·  Pléadh dualgais pearsanra an choláiste agus an Bord Bainistíochta i dtaobh cúraimí Cosaint Leanaí.

·  Ba mhaith leis an mBord Bainistíochta buíochas ó chroí a ghabháil leis an bhfoireann uile i dtaobh an méid ama a chuirtear ar fail do scoláirí lasmuigh den seomra ranga.

·  Moladh an líon mór le rá de scoláirí ar éirigh leo scoláireacht a bhaint amach sa Tríú leibhéal.

·  Bhí ardmholadh ann d’iar-scoláire, Oisín Ó Muirthile as a leabhar a d’aistrigh sé ó Spáinnis go Gaeilge den eagrán ‘Game of Thrones’ a bheith aitheanta ag Ryan Tubridy ar an Late Late Show.  Ba mhaith leis an mBord éacht Oisín a aithint go h-oifigiúil dá bharr.

·  Moladh Comhairle na dTuismithoirí maidir leis na h-imeachtaí ar fad a eagraíonn an Chomhairle ar leas tuismitheoirí an Choláiste.

·  Gabhadh buíochas do phatrúin an choláiste as an tacaíocht de-shíor a léirítear dá scoileanna agus an treoir a léirítear do sheirbhísí na scoile.

·  Beidh an chéad chruinniú eile den Bhord Bainistíochta ar siúl ag deireadh mhí Eanáir 2017.

·  Ghuigh an Cathaoirleach gach beannacht don Nollaig agus ghabh sí buíochas as gach ball foirne ar an mBord.

The Board of Management of Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh met on Monday, 5 December 2016 at 6.30pm.  The following is the agreed report for the school community.

  • The Board was briefed with regards to its obligations and the repsonsibilities of staff in relation to Child Protection Procedures.
  • The Board would like to compliment the staff of the college for the considerable amount of time teachers give to pupils outside of class-time and the variety of activities available to students.
  • The Board would like to compliment the past-pupils who were awarded entrance scholarships to 3rd level this year.
  • The Board would like to acknowledge the extraordinary work of past-pupil Oisín Ó Muirthile who translated the series of the book ‘Game of Thrones’ from Spanish to Gaeilge, and which was featured on the Late Late Show by Ryan Tubridy.  The Board intends to honour Oisín for this accolade.
  • The Board praised the Parents Council for its work in organising such enjoyable and beneficial events since September and for all the help it provides in the school.
  • The Board would like to thank the Limerick and Clare Education & Training Board (LCETB) for all of its guidance and support services in complimenting the education and development of pupils at Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh.

The next Board of Management meeting will take place at the end of January 2017.
