Addendum to School’s Admission Policy 2021/2022

There are 17 Post-Primary schools participating in the Limerick Area Post-Primary Schools’ Common Application System (CAS). This system is supported by participating post-primary schools, the Limerick Principals and Deputy Principals Association, feeder Primary schools, the Department of Education and Skills and by Limerick Education Centre, which provides the Common Application System with administrative support. 

On 7th January 2021, a meeting of Principals and Deputy Principals was convened virtually through the Limerick Education Centre. At this meeting the closing date for receipt of applications was discussed in light of the unprecedented covid-19 pandemic and level 5 restrictions.  

It was unanimously agreed to extend the closing date for receipt of applications to Thursday 21st January 2021 at 12:30pm to facilitate students / parents / guardians in these unprecedented times.  

As a result of this extension a new timetable was agreed as laid out below.  

Thursday 21st January 2021 (12:30pm) 

Amended closing date / time for receipt of application forms 

Friday 5th February 2021  

Participating schools to issue letter of offer 

Friday 12th February 2021 (3pm)  

Date by which offers are to be accepted / refused 

Week ending Friday 5th March 2021  

Common Registration process to be completed by all participating Post-Primary schools
